"I remember playing Barber's "Adagio for Strings" for the 1st time and being completely taken by it. I studied cello with a Canadian cellist and I remember there was a bassist that year from Sweden playing in our orchestra and a Spanish classical guitarist named Patrick whom I became friends with." - Tammy, early '70's

"For the first time, I was truly challenged and given music to play that wasn't just the bass line from a Sousa March. It was tough and fun, and I learned more than I would have believed possible. I loved the comraderie and meeting new students from all over the US and Canada. Practicing either in a practice room or on the beautiful grounds, was a delight, instead of a chore, and I have never been as proud of my performance as I was when we played our final concert." - Lori, 1973
"I still have my certificates and official photos. I remember how much fun I had both with classes and performances. I met a lot of young people who were so great. I have kept in contact with a fellow student from Sweden and have even hosted some of his students who attended IMC for a day or two. "I was a camper during 1966 & 1967 and part of the European Tour Group in 1968. Euphonium player, Harold Braasch, was my private lesson instructor who supported my efforts as I blew my first sour notes on the tuba. He empowered me to enjoy the instrument and become comfortable playing it. I still play in a local community concert band and Tuba Christmas events whenever possible. IMC helped a high school freshman learn and believe that playing music is COOL!" - Ted, 1966-68
