Handbells
Handbell workshop participants may enroll in one of three areas of instruction during the Fifth Session. Classes for student ringers are designed for students in the intermediate to advanced levels of handbell ringing. Adult ringer levels are for persons from beginning through advanced levels. Both groups' instruction covers a review of ringing techniques, sight-reading skills, care and repair of handbells, repertoire reading, solo and ensemble ringing, mass ringing, processions and performance in handbell choirs.
The PDE course for Handbell Directors also includes conducting techniques, an ear-training course, repertoire sessions, care and repair of handbells, and rehearsal techniques to achieve musical excellence. The workshop includes seminars on the use of handbells in worship, in classrooms, with senior citizens, etc. Faculty
