The Music Composition & Songwriting program is for musicians interested in the process of writing music. Campers will learn about developing creative ideas and bringing them to life as performances that you can hear at camp, as well as how to continue the process when you get home. Participants will study compositional techniques, songwriting and lyric writing, as well as methods for notating or recording music you have written. Music Composition & Songwriting students should have a basic understanding of music theory and performance, and some instrumental experience is preferred (piano, guitar, band or orchestra). Advanced instruction is offered for students with significant experience writing music. This session is open to students who have finished grades 9-12.
