Sessions 4 & 6 Art Camps

Session 4 Art Camps – July 11-17, 2021 (tentative)

Basic Art

Basic Art offers campers ages 11-14 a chance to learn and improve on basic techniques, learn about new materials, as well as the opportunity to express themselves and insert their own creativity into their projects.  Campers will be using charcoal, pastels, acrylics, watercolors, wood, polymer clay, and more to create their art.  Traditional and contemporary approaches to art-making will be offered.

There is an additional supply fee of $65 that will be used to purchase an art kit for this program.  The fee is included in your registration fee.  The instructor has selected specific materials and supplies necessary for this class.  A kit will be ordered for you following your registration, and will be waiting for you when you arrive at IMC.  The art kit is yours to keep after camp ends.

Drawing

The Drawing program includes the fundamentals of drawing: line, shape, value, texture and composition.  Campers will work with pencil, ink, and charcoal on life drawing (still life, nature, and people).  The class will also include group work, a design project, and chalk art.  Drawing is for students ages 14 to 19.

There is an additional supply fee of $60 that will be used to purchase an art kit for this program.  The fee is included in your registration fee.  The instructor has selected specific materials and supplies necessary for this class.  A kit will be ordered for you following your registration, and will be waiting for you when you arrive at IMC.  The art kit is yours to keep after camp ends.

Session 6 Art Camps – July 25-31, 2021 (tentative)

Cartooning

Cartooning will focus on the art of the comic strip design, cartoon drawing, and techniques.  Campers will learn the basics of developing, drawing, and writing their own cast of comic characters. Line drawing and color theory will be emphasized.  This class is for campers ages 13 to 19 with basic drawing experience.

There is an additional supply fee of $80 that will be used to purchase an art kit for this program. The fee is included in your registration fee. Painting

Painting offers campers the techniques necessary to compose a watercolor or acrylic painting and introduces the advanced techniques involving the watercolor and acrylic mediums.  Color mixing and the incorporation of other media will be included.  Classroom studies, as well as on-site painting, and mixed media will be explored.  For students ages 14 to 19 with previous painting experience.

There is an additional supply fee of $90 that will be used to purchase an art kit for this program.  The fee is included in your registration fee.  The instructor has selected specific materials and supplies necessary for this class.  A kit will be ordered for you following your registration, and will be waiting for you when you arrive at IMC.  The art kit is yours to keep after camp ends.

Painting – Ages 14-19 with previous painting experience – July 25-31, 2021 (tentative)
$540 USD if registered before May 1 or $555 USD after May 1

Sculpture

Sculpture surveys studio practices, encouraging individual exploration of creative concepts as campers develop skills in the use of techniques, design concepts, and safety practices for creating three-dimensional sculptures. For students ages 14 to 19 with previous painting experience.
