Basic Art campers (ages 11-14) will build a strong foundation in the visual arts while experimenting with diverse media and techniques. From painting and wearable art to printmaking and cyanotype photography, students develop their creativity and artistic voice through engaging, skill-focused projects that foster their creative expression. A perfect blend of learning and exploration, this session inspires the next generation of young artists.
There is an additional supply fee of $75 that will be used to purchase an art kit for this program. The fee is included in your registration fee. TheDrawing program introduces campers to the fundamentals of drawing: line, shape and form, value, texture, and space. Campers will work with a variety of drawing mediums, including pencil, ink, charcoal, while creating drawings from life, references, and their imagination. The class also includes working together on a group project, basic composition and design, and chalk art. Drawing is for students ages 14 to 19.

Cartooning will focus on the art of the comic strip design, cartoon drawing, and techniques. Campers will learn the basics of developing, drawing, and writing their own cast of comic characters. Line drawing and color theory will be emphasized. This class is for campers ages 13 to 19 with basic drawing experience.

Painting offers campers the techniques necessary to compose a watercolor or acrylic painting and introduces the advanced techniques involving the watercolor and acrylic mediums. Color mixing and the incorporation of other media will be included. Classroom studies, as well as on-site painting, and mixed media will be explored. For students ages 14 to 19 with previous painting experience.

The Sculpture program encourages individual exploration of creative concepts as campers develop skills in the use of techniques, design concepts, and safety practices for creating three-dimensional sculptures. Including clay, metal, found objects and more, campers learn the tools and foundations for studio practice on individual and group projects. Sculpture is for students ages 14 to 19 with any previous art camp experience.
