Best wishes to you for the New Year from the International Music Camp Office!
As we look ahead to this coming summer, we have a lot of excitement and anticipation wrapped in a tangle of question marks. We know that IMC plays a crucial part in fostering independence, resilience, creativity, growth, and artistry in young people (and the young at heart) and we are thrilled to continue doing that in every way we can this year.
All of the International Music Camp’s programming will look different this summer. What we do know at this point is that we won’t be able to return to the usual gathering of over 2,000 people from all over the world in the same ways we have the past 64 years. Those days are waiting for us in 2022 and beyond. For this year, we are focusing on what we can do to fulfill our mission of providing artistic expression and personal growth safely to campers on both sides of the US and Canadian border as well as internationally.
We are working with our faculty to build IMC @ Home online programs (week-long programs, half day master classes, and lessons) through the International Music Camp in June and July 2021. We will begin promoting these programs as soon as details are finalized. Scholarships will be available to participate in these online programs this summer. We haven’t ruled out the possibility of in-person camping this summer. We need a few months to make that decision. The status of the US/Canadian border and the health and safety of campers, faculty, and staff are the two largest considerations in planning for this summer.
We will send out and post updates regarding all of our programming as soon as we have them. We look forward to serving you this summer! Take care of one another and be well!
